Cassia Harvey

Cassia Harvey (born 1978) is an American professional cellist, author, and cello teacher based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. With over 150 published books, she has a demonstrable breadth of knowledge on string technique.
Harvey's published books include: ''Octaves for the Cello, Book One'', ''Finger Exercises for the Cello, Book One'', ''Serial Shifting; Exercises for the Cello'', ''The Two Octaves Book for Cello'', and ''Fourth Position for the Cello''.
Harvey's work has been specifically studied in an academic context.
Harvey has performed with the Philmore Ensemble, a Philadelphia-based chamber group, since 2012. Together with her sister Myanna Harvey (a violinist), Harvey performs in the Harvey String Duo.
Harvey graduated from Central High School of Philadelphia, obtaining a bachelor of arts degree. She began her study of the cello at age eight with Lillian Kauffman and would go on to study with Deborah Reeder and Jeffrey Solow.
